Hidden Hollywood
Nonfiction TV series under development by Renaissance TV; apparently never aired
Starring Lisa Ruthven, Adam Fresco, Warwick Davis

In May 2004 I discovered that the Hidden Hollywood homepage had gone offline. This probably means that they've given up on the project, so I will treat it as dead unless I receive information indicating otherwise. In the meantime, I've taken the liberty of reprinting some of the pictures from the old official site.

This planned television series was a news magazine seeking to entertain and educate a wide range of family viewers on the subject of moviemaking, with a location guide, behind the scenes information, movie mistakes, deleted scenes, and much more.

Warwick was to host a weekly feature on movie props providing information on how to find, authenticate and purchase original pieces of Hollywood memorabilia. As of May 2002 it was reported that Warwick had begun filming his segments. An April 2002 story on TheRaider. net said, "In his weekly feature he acts like a Hollywood archaeologist unearthing many famous artifacts used in movies."

The pilot was finished in the first week of June 2002. As of July 2002, the show had embarked on the complex process of getting permission to air in the U.K. They'd had one positive meeting already, and the next phase of the process was to begin in early September 2002. Plans to take the series to the international market were also moving in the right direction in mid 2002. Alas, there's only been silence since then. I've been told that it takes a long time to get approval for broadcast in the UK, but this does seem excessive.
