EXT. ROAD - CHASE - DAY As Madmartigan lashes the horse, Willow crawls up to him and takes the baby. WILLOW: We could've been killed, Madmartigan! In the back, the brownies bounce all over the place amid wooden kegs and other objects. When they finally get their balance they look back in alarm. Chasing them are two Nockmaar HORSEMEN plus a DEATH DOG and a war chariot. Willow ducks low and peeks out, protectively hugging the baby. The wagon bounces and flies along, but the minions are quickly gaining. Rool and Teemo spring into action. They struggle with all their might and manage to kck small wooden kegs off the back of the wagon. The kegs bounce onto the road, and the minions lose some ground trying to avoid them. But soon the horsemen flank the wagon. One leaps off his galloping horse and climbs on board. The other draws an arrow and gets ready to fire. |
EXT. ROAD - CHASE - DAY
The wagon fishtails along the muddy road. In the back,
Rool bounces all over the place, and Franjean tries to hold onto him.
Willow huddles under the seat, where there is a small storage box packed with
straw. He puts the baby safely inside, bumping his head as he does so.
WILLOW: Stop! Slow down! Stop!
But Madmartigan speeds up. WILLOW: Stop this wagon, Madmartigan! You're gonna get us killed! |
Three Nockmaar soldiers on horseback and a war chariot containing two more soldiers set out in pursuit. Meanwhile, Willow struggles for balance in the jouncing wagon. WILLOW: Madmartigan, stop!!! Madmartigan ignores him. Willow crawls over to the open-topped storage box where Elora has been stowed and tries to shelter her. Franjean contends with the violent motion and a loose apple. FRANJEAN: Rool! Rool! The three Nockmaar horsemen catch up to the wagon. MADMARTIGAN: (to his horses) Hyaah!! The wagon splashes through a large puddle. Madmartigan starts pulling apples out of the front of his dress. WILLOW: Madmartigan, I'm warning you! Madmartigan tosses an apple over his shoulder. It bounces off Willow's head. WILLOW: Ow! A Nockmaar horseman draws abreast of the wagon. Franjean faces him through an opening in the side of the wagon, brandishing a brownie machete. FRANJEAN: Prepare to die! |
|
Madmartigan is about to be shot between the eyes. He quickly rolls into the back. The archer fires! and hits the other minion in the chest. Madmartigan snaps a wooden stake off the wagon side and smashes the wounded minion off the wagon: he crashes onto the road. Willow harnesses the papoose to his chest and grabs the reins. At the same time the minion archer leaps aboard. He and Madmartigan fight in the back. WILLOW: Heeyah! Heeyah! Then there's a terrible howl right beside Willow. The Death Dog is leaping alongside the wagon, gnashing and trying to board. Willow yanks the reins and swerves the wagon into the dog, which yelps furiously. In the back, Madmartigan and the minion are thrown by the swerving jolt. WILLOW: Oh no! |
Madmartigan is about to be shot between the eyes. He lets go of the reins and rolls into the back. The archer fires! and hits the other minion in the chest. Madmartigan snaps a wooden stake off the wagon side and smashes the wounded minion into the mud. The wagon bounces and flies along. Madmartigan knocks the bow away from the horseman, who jumps on board. They fight. |
The horseman takes no notice, and vaults into the back of the wagon. Another horseman fires an arrow at the wagon, narrowly missing his comrade. Madmartigan slides off the driver's seat and into the back of the wagon to fight off their unwanted, sword-wielding passenger. He finds a shovel in the back of the wagon and uses it to knock the soldier out of the wagon. Another horseman vaults into the wagon and knocks the shovel away. The soldier and Madmartigan battle for control of the soldier's sword. WILLOW: Madmartigan, stop!! |
|
Up ahead Willow sees an exposed tree root in the road. The wagon is headed straight for it! The wheel hits the root hard and Willow is dumped onto the wagon floor and very nearly goes overboard. In the back, Madmartigan and the minion keep fighting as the wagon clatters along out of control. The Death Dog catches up again and this time springs aboard. DEATH DOG: Bordak!! The dog snaps at the baby. Willow scurries under the wagon seat. The dog stands up on its hind feet. DEATH DOG: Bordak!! It gets ready to attack. But WHACK! an overhanging tree branch hits it and Willow looks up from under the seat and sees the mangled dog twitching and dangling from the tree, rapidly disappearing in the distance. In the back, meanwhile, the minion draws a knife. Madmartigan ducks out of his way, hanging onto a post at the edge of the tailgate. The minion comes after him. |
Willow tries to reach the dangling reins. He looks up and sees an exposed tree root in the road. The wagon is headed straight for it! The wheel hits the root and Willow is thrown down into the harness where he dangles near the hoofs and the road. Rool and Franjean stagger dizzily in the back. Willow eventually climbs back into the wagon. One of the minions is right there snarling at him, stabbing at him with his spear. Willow finds a mallet under the toolbox. He suddenly hits the minion in the groin with it. The minion lets out a howl and stands up straight. WHACK! an overhanging branch hits him and he is left dangling and twitching in the distance. |
They're too busy to pay any attention to him. Willow goes after the reins as Rool gets sick over the side of the wagon. The reins slip out of reach a moment before Willow notices the log lying across the road. He gasps in horror. As the wagon jolts over the log Willow goes flying and lands on the pole between the horses. Rool is thrown out of the wagon and ends up dangling off the side by one hand. ROOL: Franjean! Help me! One of the back wheels disintegrates as the wagon continues barrelling down the road. FRANJEAN: (looking around) Rool! ROOL: Help!! FRANJEAN: Rool! Rool! (finally locating him) Rool, what are you doing? ROOL: Help me! Willow strains to reach the reins as Franjean helps Rool to safety. FRANJEAN: Come on. ROOL: Pull me in! FRANJEAN: I am! Willow finally grabs the reins and crawls into the driver's seat. WILLOW: (almost inaudible, to himself) Easy! Madmartigan and the Nockmaar soldier are still fighting in the back of the wagon. The baby smiles and giggles. The third Nockmaar soldier jumps into the wagon, almost landing on Rool. Willow confronts the soldier with a large wooden mallet he found in the wagon and shouts something incomprehensible. The soldier stabs at Willow with his sword and misses. Willow whacks him in the crotch with the mallet, then in the helmet. A low branch sweeps the soldier out of the wagon. |
|
Suddenly the wagon wheel wobbles and the rim flies off. The jolt throws the minion off balance. Madmartigan kicks him. The minion hurtles off the taligate but holds on, dragged by the wagon. Rool and Teemo grab hold of a rope securing a large wooden keg. Together they yank it. Untying the keg and sending it tumbling off the back. The minion looks up in horror as the heavy keg crushes him. |
The remaining back wheel disintegrates. Willow knocks himself unconscious with the hammer as he falls. Madmartigan falls out the back end of the wagon but manages to grab hold of a rope. The remaining Nockmaar soldier falls out too but manages to grab hold of Madmartigan. They continue scuffling as they try to pull themselves back into the wagon. Franjean drags Rool over to the wooden kegs tied inside the wagon. FRANJEAN: Rool, this isn't funny. Help me cut the rope! The brownies hack at the rope until it breaks. A keg rolls off the back of the wagon and right into the face of the soldier, breaking his grip on the wagon. Madmartigan climbs back into the wagon as the brownies celebrate raucously. |
|
|
But the danger is far from over. The wagon rocks along with one wheel half-destroyed. Willow whips the reins and looks over his shoulder. Steam-rolling toward them is the war chariot! The Nockmaar CHARIOT DRIVER stands up and stuffs the reins in his mouth. He rasise his arm and begins to twirl a deadly weapon, a kind of bolo-blade, over his head. Madmartigan defends himself with a wooden wagon-post. The chariot driver hurls the whistling blade: CHONK! It lodges in the post. Madmartigan tugs. So does the chariot driver. Back and forth, the wagons smashing up each other. At last Madmartigan lets go of the post and the chariot driver is sent tumbling through the air, over a cliff to his death. |
Madmartigan knocks the other minion off the back. But the danger is far from over. Steam-rolling after them is the war chariot! The CHARIOT DRIVER stands up and stuffs the reins in his mouth. He raises his arm and twirls a deadly weapon, a kind of bolo-blade over his head. Willow finally grabs the reins and immediately yanks hard on them. WILLOW: Whoa! Whoa! The wagon stops. The chariot flies on by! Willow dives under the seat to check the baby. MADMARTIGAN: What are you doing? Are you crazy? The chariot stops, U-turns and speeds toward them. WILLOW: You can't chase around with Elora like this. We're getting off. Madmartigan grabs the reins and takes off, tumbling Willow into the back. He heads straight toward the chariot, playing "chicken." WILLOW: Madmartigan, I mean it -- I don't wanna have to hurt you! At the last moment the chariot veers away. Madmartigan WHACKS the driver with the spear and the chariot topples over and crashes into a tree. |
But now they have another problem. The war chariot has caught up with them, and an iron throwing star narrowly misses Madmartigan's head. He grabs a pole lying in the wagon and uses it to fend off the mace wielded by one of the soldiers in the chariot. Willow regains consciousness. MADMARTIGAN: Willow, stay down! Willow ignores him and hauls back on the reins as Madmartigan knocks the soldier's weapon away. It falls into the wagon. WILLOW: Whoa! Whoa! The chariot shoots ahead. Madmartigan sits next to Willow on the driver's seat as the chariot turns around for another pass at them. MADMARTIGAN: Have you gone crazy? WILLOW: You can't chase around with Elora like this! We're getting off! MADMARTIGAN: (to the horses) Hyaah! Hyaah! Willow shouts and tumbles into the back of the wagon as the horses take off again. Madmartigan picks up the mace and swings it as they race toward the chariot. Willow tries to shield the baby with his body. The chariot swerves to avoid a head-on collision, and Madmartigan throws the mace at the soldiers, knocking one of them out of the chariot. The chariot hits a bush and tips over, dumping the other soldier. The Nockmaar horses keep running, dragging the overturned chariot behind them. Willow and Madmartigan watch them go for a few seconds. |
|
WILLOW: Whoa...whoa...! Willow tries to stop the horse. But the wheel collapses and he is thrown off into a ditch. The brownies dive overboard. Madmartigan jumps off and deliberately sends the wagon up the road. He scrambles down into the ditch and lies flat beside Willow. |
EXT. ROADSIDE - DAY Madmartigan halts the wagon. MADMARTIGAN: Now we stop, Peck. Willow gets the crying baby out from under the
seat and jumps to the ground. The brownies jump off.
FRANJEAN: WILLOW: You never ever drive that fast with an infant! MADMARTIGAN: I just saved that "infant's" life. Madmartigan whacks the horse, sending the wagon down the road. He hustles Willow into a ditch and they lie flat. Franjean dives after them. Rool, still confused, stops. ROOL: Where am I? |
MADMARTIGAN: (to his horses) Whoa! Whoa! The wagon stops. Rool falls off the back end. FRANJEAN: Oh, Rool! MADMARTIGAN: Now we stop, peck! Madmartigan jumps to the ground. Franjean pulls Rool to his feet. ROOL: Stupid Daikini. Ask him to stop the wagon. Willow hops off the back of the wagon, carrying Elora. WILLOW: Madmartigan, you never, ever drive that fast with an infant! MADMARTIGAN: (in disbelief) I just saved that infant's life! Madmartigan sends the horses down the road with the empty wagon, then drags Willow to the side of the road. FRANJEAN: (to Rool) Gather your wits. Come on! ROOL: Don't worry about me, I'm fine! MADMARTIGAN: (almost inaudible) Come on. The sound of approaching horses is heard as Willow and Madmartigan hide in a ditch with Franjean and Elora. MADMARTIGAN: Down! Rool is still in the middle of the road. ROOL: Oh, where am I? Oh... |
|
Suddenly, hoofbeats thunder and Sorsha and the rest of her troops gallop past. Lying flat, Madmartigan raises his head and sees Sorsha's long flowing red hair. MADMARTIGAN: That girl is a vision. As soon as the troops are gone, Willow jumps up. WILLOW: Where's the baby?? MADMARTIGAN: I thought you had her! ROOL/TEEMO: Willow!! The brownies are waving and gesturing madly, pointing at a heap of boards and rubble that broke off the wagon. Willow and Madmartigan race over and start digging, flinging debris aside. MADMARTIGAN: Now Willow, I know you're gonna blame me for this but it wasn't my fault...! WILLOW: Elora Danan! Willow sees the battered, lifeless papoose. He grabs it and rips it open. Madmartigan kneels in the dirt remorsefully. MADMARTIGAN: When I left the crossroads, I got ambushed by an elf! WILLOW: Madmartigan! You saved her life! MADMARTIGAN: I did? Willow holds up the baby. She giggles and smiles. Madmartigan switches gears, boasting: MADMARTIGAN: I mean, of course I saved her life. She's almost my daughter, isn't she? Willow bundles the baby and looks up the road. |
Sorsha and troops thunder past, spinning Rool. WILLOW: I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. You swore
on your word of honor you'd look after Elora Danan.
MADMARTIGAN: I did! But I was attacked... by a huge, hairy, vicious, smelly...
cyclops...
FRANJEAN: I am not smelly!
ROOL: Franjean stole the baby while you were taking a--
MADMARTIGAN: Get outta here!
He stamps the ground and Rool topples over.
WILLOW: You're no man of honor.
MADMARTIGAN: I was once the greatest knight in the kingdom of Galladoorn.
He picks up a stick, swishes it around like a sword, but he screws up and the
stick goes flying.
WILLOW: You're reckless.
Franjean helps Rool to his feet.
FRANJEAN: And irresponsible.
ROOL: And dangerous.
FRANJEAN: I declare we execute him!
They've all ganged up on him.
MADMARTIGAN: I don't need this. I'm on my way. I gotta find some people my
own size. (to the baby) Goodby, skinny.
WILLOW: She's not skinny.
MADMARTIGAN: Look at her arms. They look like a couple of sticks. He's not
feeding you enough, is he?
He tickles the baby, she giggles. He blows her a kiss and strides away. In the
distance WE HEAR dogs howling. Madmartigan stops and shouts back. |
The horses of Sorsha and many soldiers come thundering up. FRANJEAN: Rool, you fool, get out of the road! The horses pass right over Rool, leaving him miraculously untrampled. After they're gone, Madmartigan stands up and walks away. ROOL: (almost inaudible) Ah, Franjean... |
|
WILLOW: Let's get out of here before they come back. They hurry off into the darkening woods. |
MADMARTIGAN: You better clear out, Willow, before those troops come back! He heads off. Rool hiccups and falls over.
FRANJEAN: Stand up straight. We are an army. WILLOW: We don't need him, Elora. The baby bursts out crying. |
MADMARTIGAN: You'd better clear out, Willow, before those troops come back. ROOL: (almost inaudible) Ah, my head! Willow stays put. WILLOW: We don't need him, Elora. The baby starts crying. Willow suddenly looks a lot less confident. |
|
EXT. FIELD - DAY Willow hurries with the baby through tall grass. WILLOW: Madmartigan, wait! Madmartigan strides along up ahead. MADMARTIGAN: Go home, Willow. I thought you didn't trust me. WILLOW: I don't. But we need your help. MADMARTIGAN: My help? A great sorcerer like you? What do you need my help for? WILLOW: You're a great warrior and a swordsman and you're ten times bigger than I am, stupid! MADMARTIGAN: Are you trying to make my life more difficult than it is? |
As Madmartigan strides across a field of tall grass, Willow comes running up behind him. WILLOW: Madmartigan, wait! MADMARTIGAN: Go home, Willow. It's a dangerous world. WILLOW: Yeah, and that's why we need your help. MADMARTIGAN: My help? Ha! What do you need my help for? You're a sorcerer. WILLOW: You're a great warrior. And a swordsman. And you're ten times bigger than I am, stupid! Madmartigan flings down the loose clothing he's carrying. MADMARTIGAN: Are you trying to make my life more difficult than it already is? |
|
|
Dogs bark, soldiers shout. Madmartigan hits the dirt. They keep still. Rool hiccups. WILLOW: Look, I'm sorry I got angry. We wouldn't have escaped without you. Madmartigan squints at the baby and gives the top of her head a friendly scratch. MADMARTIGAN: Yeah well don't expect me to help you again. The dog noises fade away. Franjean and Rool pop up, and Rool points his arm in various directions, like a navigator. ROOL: That way!
FRANJEAN: We go beyond that hill to the lake! |
The barking of Death Dogs is heard. Madmartigan and Willow throw themselves down on the ground. The brownies come running up. FRANJEAN: Hurry! Big dogs! WILLOW: Look, I'm sorry I got angry. We wouldn't have escaped without you. Madmartigan looks at the baby and touches her tiny hand. She smiles at him. MADMARTIGAN: (indecisively) Well, don't expect me to help you again. Madmartigan gets to his feet. FRANJEAN: Good! Then we go that way, to the lake! He points. Rool taps him on the shoulder and points in a different direction. ROOL: That way. Franjean slams the ground with the butt of his spear. FRANJEAN: You are drunk. And when you are drunk you forget that I am in charge. ROOL: ...you are in charge. Fine. Then which way do we go? They both point in the direction chosen by Rool. FRANJEAN & ROOL: That way! |
|
|
Nearby, Madmartigan hikes along behind Willow. MADMARTIGAN: Aw, no-- That's where I'm going...! He swaggers past Willow and takes the lead. MADMARTIGAN: All right, all right... You can stick with me as far as the lake. But that's it. You're not going south, I hope. WILLOW: No. Just as far as the lake. |
Madmartigan has been watching this uncomfortably. Willow looks at him hopefully. MADMARTIGAN: Oh, no! That's the way I'm going. All right, all right, you can follow me as far as the lake. But that's it. You're not going south, are you? WILLOW: No, no. Just as far as the lake. |
|
|
MADMARTIGAN: Good. (to the brownies) Mumbo! Jumbo! I'm hungry. Go find me some eggs or something. Now! The brownies jump off their rock and scurry away. FRANJEAN: We are not afraid of you! Madmartigan mutters to Willow. MADMARTIGAN: Ungrateful little creatures... They trek on. |
MADMARTIGAN: Good. (to the brownies) Mumbo! Jumbo! I am hungry. Go get me some eggs or something. FRANJEAN: We are not afraid of you! MADMARTIGAN: Now! The brownies squeal in mock terror and run away. |

INT. THRONE ROOM - DAY Bavmorda paces anxiously with her druids. Kael enters with two minions. BAVMORDA: Kael... Have you found the child? KAEL: The search goes on, my queen. BAVMORDA: Why, with all my powers, with the strength of my great army, can you not find this little child? KAEL: We search even now. It won't be long. Bavmorda isn't thrilled by this report. BAVMORDA: Find the child, find the child! Time is running out! Kael backs away from her and exits. |
With a clap of thunder, the scene shifts to Bavmorda's throne room. General Kael approaches the queen and kneels. BAVMORDA: Kael. Have you found the child? KAEL: The search goes on, my queen. BAVMORDA: Why, with my powers, with the strength of my great army, can you not find one little child? KAEL: We look even now. It won't be long. BAVMORDA: (slapping his face) Find the child, find the child! Time is running out. |

EXT. WOODS - NIGHT A campfire blazes. Willow tends the baby while the brownies point up at the stars. TEEMO: Northeast is that way. We've come west and south. I think. Madmartigan dumps a big log on the fire, spraying the brownies with sparks. ROOL: Watch it! You're gonna set us on fire. MADMARTIGAN: Not a bad idea. Madmartigan terrorizes them with a flaming stick. Then he squats beside Willow and the baby. MADMARTIGAN: So you're on your way to Tir Asleen, huh? I hate to tell you this, Willow, but Tir Asleen dosn't exist. WILLOW: Yes it does. The Fairy Queen told me. MADMARTIGAN: The Fairy Queen? And the baby here's a princess? And these two rodents are your guides? He shakes his head skeptically, stretches out and puts his feet up on a log. MADMARTIGAN: Yeah well...in the morning I think I'll be on my way. He laughs sarcastically. Willow sets down the baby. He takes off Kiaya's necklace and fingers it sadly. WILLOW: Madmartigan, I need your help. MADMARTIGAN: My help? A great magician like you? You don't need any help. Willow stares at him angrily. WILLOW: But you're a great swordsman! He jumps and starts pacing around the fire. Rool and Teemo dive for cover. WILLOW: (explodes) You're not a warrior, Madmartigan! A warrior wouldn't lie there and do nothing! He kicks Madmartigan's boot and knocks his feet off the log. WILLOW: We're in trouble! You've seen the big army that's after us! You're a fake! You're a bum! You're a-- you're a coward!! He picks up a rock and pitches it wildly at the fire, sending up a shower of sparks. Madmartigan eyes him with concern. MADMARTIGAN: What's with you, Peck? Willow lets it all pour out. He begins to cry. WILLOW: I miss my wife! I miss my children! My boy Ranon! He's growing up so fast, he even helps me on the farm now! And little Mims! If you ever saw her sweet little face you'd *melt* Madmartigan, you'd *melt*! (sniffles) Or maybe you wouldn't. You don't know anything about love. You don't know anything about anything... Willow sits on the ground, exhausted. Madmartigan picks up the baby and sits with her in his lap. MADMARTIGAN: I was in love once, Willow. She had a hold on my heart. I could barely function. (a pause) I *was* a great swordsman! I was knighted! I could have been king! WILLOW: You? MADMARTIGAN: Yeah me. King! But she betrayed me. She robbed me of my dream. Madmartigan gently rocks the baby and stares at the fire. Willow watches him curiously. MADMARTIGAN: I'll never fall in love again... |
EXT. WOODS - NIGHT Beside a campfire the brownies sleep restlessly. They snort and roll and grunt, and Rool finally whacks Franjean in the face. Madmartigan rips his female clothes apart and re-makes them into a loincloth and smock. He watches Willow check the baby, who is asleep in her papoose. MADMARTIGAN: She's kind of cute when she's asleep. WILLOW: She's really a princess, you know. MADMARTIGAN: And you're a great sorcerer, and I'm the King of Cashmere. Go to sleep. Madmartigan turns over and shuts his eyes. WILLOW: Good night, Madmartigan. |
The scene shifts back to the heroes, who have made camp for the night. Madmartigan's pink skirt has been tucked into his boots to resemble trousers. WILLOW: (whispering to Elora) Good night. MADMARTIGAN: She is kind of cute... when she's quiet. WILLOW: She's really a princess. MADMARTIGAN: Really? And you're a great sorcerer. And I'm the king of Cashmere. Go to sleep, Willow. Madmartigan lies down. WILLOW: Good night, Madmartigan. The brownies are lying side by side on the ground, already asleep. ROOL: Rats! Big rats! He rolls over in his sleep and whacks Franjean, disturbing him. ROOL: Rats! FRANJEAN: Huh? Uh? Rats?! Ra... (more awake now) Rooie, you and that stupid rat dream. Huh! |
|
Willow secretively takes out the magic wand. Unable to resist it, he shakes it lightly a couple of times. WILLOW: (whispers Tuatha... lawkathok... tuatha...! He gives the wand a good shake. Suddenly there's a FLASH, as if fingers of lightning are zapping Willow with a CRACK, and he flies OUT OF FRAME. Madmartigan sits up. MADMARTIGAN: Willow? Willow? He looks up. Willow is stuck in the leaves of an overhanging branch. His body is smoking. MADMARTIGAN: Oh, there you are. Goodnight, Willow. Madmartigan goes back to sleep. |
Franjean goes back to sleep. Madmartigan is also asleep. Willow picks up Cherlindrea's wand and starts waving it around. WILLOW: Tuatha...locktwaar... tuatha WAHAA!! A powerful blast tosses him into the air. Madmartigan wakes up. MADMARTIGAN: Hmmh? Willow? Willow... Looking around, he spots Willow sitting in a tree about eight feet off the ground. MADMARTIGAN: Oh, there you are. WILLOW: Madmartigan! MADMARTIGAN: (yawning) 'night, Willow. Madmartigan lies back down. Willow looks at the wand with amazed respect. |
|
|
EXT. WOODS - MORNING Willow wakes up and looks around. The baby is gone. He panics. He scrambles a short distance through some bushes. WILLOW: Madmartigan! Madmartigan! They've been camped all night near the shore of a LAKE. Willow finds Madmartigan and the baby bathing happily in the water. MADMARTIGAN: Relax, Willow. We're having fun. The baby squeals with delight as Madmartigan twirls her around. He lifts her up and carries her to Willow on the shore. The brownies crawl through the bushes. Rool points out at the lake. |
EXT. RUGGED LANDSCAPE - DAY Carrying the baby, Willow follows Rool and Franjean. Madmartigan walks behind, on the lookout for any danger. EXT. WATERFALL - DAY The expedition rests by a magnificent waterfall. Holding the baby, Madmartigan lets her suck on a wild root. WILLOW: What are you doing? MADMARTIGAN: I found some blackroot. She loves it. WILLOW: Blackroot!! I am the father of two children: you never ever give a baby blackroot! |
Daytime. The group walks through stony, mountainous terrain. ROOL: This way! This way! Later, Madmartigan sits next to a waterfall, playing with Elora. Willow walks up to them. WILLOW: What are you doing? MADMARTIGAN: I found some blackroot. She loves it! WILLOW: Blackroot?! I am the father of two children, and you never, ever give a baby blackroot! |
|
MADMARTIGAN: My mother raised us on blackroot.
It puts hair on your chest. Right, Sticks?
He takes a generous bite of the blackroot. WILLOW: Her name is not Sticks. She's Elora Danan, the future empress of Tir Asleen. And the last thing she's going to want is a hairy chest. Willow snatches the blackroot from Madmartigan and flings it away. |
MADMARTIGAN: Well my mother raised us on blackroot. It's good for you. Puts hair on your chest, doesn't it, Sticks? WILLOW: Her name is not Sticks. She's Elora Danan, the future empress of Tir Asleen, and the last thing she's gonna want is a hairy chest! Willow grabs the blackroot and throws it at the waterfall. MADMARTIGAN: (to Elora) Did you see what he did? He stole our blackroot! I'll get some more, don't worry about it. |
|
|
ROOL: That's it! The sorceress lives there! In the middle of the lake is an island with a single tree. TEEMO: Are you sure? ROOL: (excited) Yes! Raziel! She lives out on that island! Madmartigan lets out a sarcastic, skeptical laugh. Teemo scratches his head and squints out at the island. TEEMO: That tree dosn't look like gold to me. MADMARTIGAN: Gold!! Madmartigan rubs his chin with sudden interest. TEEMO: Its branches are supposed to be made of gold, solid gold. WILLOW: How are we going to get out there? Madmartigan is suddenly pacing and thinking. MADMARTIGAN: We'll find a way, Willow. Look over there--that looks like a village--maybe they've got a boat. Come on, what are you waiting for? |
EXT. CLIFF - DAY Franjean and Rool point to an island in the middle of a lake. ROOL: There's the island! WILLOW: We made it! FRANJEAN: We'll get a boat in that village. They start down a cliffside. Madmartigan follows. |
Later, a large lake comes into view as the group reaches the crest of a hill. ROOL: There it is! The island! The brownies cackle happily. WILLOW: We made it. FRANJEAN: We have led you to the island of the sorceress Fin Raziel. We'll get a boat in that village. ROOL: A big boat! (laughs) |
