| Airk Threatens Sorsha |
|
Considering how small this incident is, it's surprising how many sources report it.
The details vary from one version to another, but all agree that the incident occurs near
the end of the end of the battle of Tir Asleen, or shortly thereafter on the road to
Nockmaar. Airk sees Sorsha and in most versions of the story hurries to confront
her, thinking that she is still an enemy. Madmartigan stops him, explaining that
Sorsha is now an ally. Then they all ride for Nockmaar together.
Although I don't think this small scene would have been terribly interesting to watch, leaving it in would have been an act of cinematic orderliness. This is probably why the incident is reported in so many different versions of the story. After all the battles Airk has fought against Nockmaar, it doesn't make sense for him to just accept Sorsha's presence without asking any questions. |

WILLOW: I'm sorry. There were too many of them.
Madmartigan scoops him up. They ride out with Sorsha. EXT. TIR ASLEEN Kael and his men skirmish with Airk's army. Kael and four horsemen escape. Madmartigan rides out to Airk Thaughbaer. MADMARTIGAN: Airk! Kael's got the baby! Sorsha rides up. Airk draws his sword and goes to kill her. Madmartigan maneuvers his horse between them. MADMARTIGAN: Sorsha rides with me. Airk looks at Sorsha then sheathes his sword. Then, a command from the saddlebag: FRANJEAN: Warriors! ROOL: To the canyon! The rebels chase Kael's army toward the canyon maze. MADMARTIGAN: You out for a little ride in the country, Airk? AIRK: Thought you might get lonely! They spur their horses and gallop after the others. Then, Raziel trots out of the castle and clip-clops across the valley. |
