| The filming of the pogo stick scene. At least one version of the stick is attached
to a board at floor level, there are ropes attached to a possibly different version,
and there are people holding onto the Leprechaun to keep him from falling over. This suggests
that the pogo stick was actually bouncing at least part of the time, but I can't figure
out exactly how they filmed this scene. |
A too-tall stunt double also gets into the action briefly. The second picture is a screen
capture (with the lighting adjusted a lot) showing this person. Deep Roy
was the scheduled stunt double during the
pogo shoot, but a post assistant who also doubled Jennifer Aniston's walk past the
guard's desk in the nursing home was the double during re-shoots of this scene.
I suspect this is the post assistant - Deep Roy is taller than Warwick, but this person
looks really big. The double jumps up and down without a pogo stick and
goes pretty high even without mechanical assistance. The scene
works because it's so dark and the moment is brief. |

| The bouncing on the shopkeeper's body was actually delivered by a crewman with a metal pole,
and he seems to be putting quite a lot of energy into it. It looks like there's a black rubber
tip on the business end of the pole. It also looks like this particular moment was filmed in
the diner set - note the restaurant tables and booths in the background. |
The Leprechaun still
has blood on his lips from the leg bite. |
At least some of the customers in the diner were crew members and friends. Mark Jones is
highly visible at the counter (first picture). Dave Tripet is also at the counter, but his
left side never makes it onscreen (second picture, far right). These two pictures are
screen captures. |

| Gabe Bartalos sits right behind Jennifer Aniston in this scene and is visible in
the movie. Warwick and Samantha Davis sit across from him, in this picture at least. All we see of Sam in the movie
is a glimpse of her hair, and Warwick was cut out entirely so that people wouldn't see
the Leprechaun out of uniform. |
In fact Warwick moved completely, to a table full of attractive women. But he'll have
to behave himself because his wife is in the adjacent booth. |
Looks like Gabe has been sticking food up his nose. His companions don't seem to mind. |

| Things got a little crazy while shooting the diner scene, because the lights were very
hot and after a while the food started to smell like garbage. Not that these pictures
illustrate that. |
Odd behavior involving forks. This is probably some kind of lighting test. |
Although Ken Olandt is the one getting a closeup, the camera is a lot closer to Jennifer
Aniston's face. |

| Setting up the traffic stop scene. |
Gabe brings the costume hands so Warwick can finish suiting up. The Leprechaun costume
is not particularly comfortable, and although the face makeup has to stay on until it's time
to go home at the end of the day, the hands slip on and off like gloves and can be removed
between scenes. The hands have to go on before the jacket because the wrist portion is so long. |
The highway was dark, but it wasn't lonely. |
