Connie's Warwick Davis Fanpage and Leprechaun Center

News 2001

December 23, 2001

The Official Warwick Davis Website has been updated, with fun new stuff in the News/Ridiculous Rumors section and the Scrapbook section. Go over and take a look!

This webpage has been updated too. Starlog #293 has left the store shelves, so the magazine's interview with Warwick is now available in the Warwick Davis Articles section. And the Leprechaun Props section has been updated to include some new information on the Leprechaun stunt mask.

December 10, 2001

The Leprechaun Miscellaneous section has a subsection for Leprechaun Props that now contains a wonderful picture of a stunt mask from the first Leprechaun movie. I lost the auction for this mask just a couple of days ago!

Those of you in the UK once again have a chance to see Warwick Davis onstage. He'll be performing in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, Surrey from December 14 to January 6. This information has been added to the Filmography's Plays & Pantomimes subsection.

December 3, 2001

Ordering stuff over the internet is often a good way to save money, but there's a price to be paid in terms of the extra days you spend waiting for delivery. But my Willow Special Edition DVD finally arrived, and at last I got to watch the lovely remastered widescreen version of the movie, listen to Warwick Davis' wonderful audio commentary, and sample all the behind-the-scenes features. All the movie's fans definitely need to buy this DVD! For a long time there's been a Filmography listing for Willow on this webpage and a large picture gallery in the Warwick Davis Pictures section, but your biggest resource for Willow information is The Crossroads, my other webpage.

A listing for the second Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, has been added to the Filmography, because Warwick will be playing Professor Flitwick once again in this movie. There's not a lot of information so far, but without doubt that situation will change.

The Warwick Davis Picture Gallery now has a separate section for Harry Potter Pictures. The collection was getting a little too big to be kept with the miscellaneous pictures, especially now that I've added half a dozen new pictures of Professor Flitwick and the Goblin Banker. I also revised the picture display and the placement of links in the Harry Potter movie section to be more consistent with the other listings in the Filmography.

I found out which Leprechaun scene is included in the Boogeymen horror compilation DVD. It's the pogo stick scene!

The offsite links listed in the Warwick Davis Articles include two new entries for recent interviews on The Houston Chronicle and Entertainment Rewired.

Time keeps rolling on, which means that the Biography section keeps getting out of date. It's just been revised; I hope that'll hold it for another six months!

November 24, 2001

I was looking at The Official Warwick Davis Website recently and discovered some unique pictures that somehow I'd never noticed before. Go on over and take a look - here are the links. There's one of Basil Hodge from The Fitz TV series. As far as I know, this is the first time a picture of this character has appeared on the internet. It's a great shot, and it makes me wish more than ever that I could have watched the TV series. But alas, I was on the wrong continent for that. Warwick also has a wild photo of Acorn from The Tenth Kingdom miniseries, and one of the Leprechaun as he appeared in Leprechaun in the Hood. I've put links in the Filmography subsections for The Fitz, The Tenth Kingdom, and Leprechaun in the Hood to make the pictures easy to find in the future. [Obsolete links removed]

I mentioned Mad magazine's Harry Potter parody (featuring Warwick's goblin character) in my last update. It took me a few days to discover that the issue also had some Harry Potter comic strips, and Professor Flitwick appears in one of those. The relevant panel now appears in the Harry Potter section.

November 19, 2001

Today I saw Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and I've updated the Harry Potter section of the Filmography to contain my review instead of "upcoming movie" rumors. I liked the movie, and I want to see it again! There's also a new picture from Mad magazine's Harry Potter parody.

The Warwick Davis Articles section has a link to a November 7 interview with Warwick on The Onion A.V. Club website.

Starlog magazine issue #293 (December 2001) has an interview with Warwick, but you can't read it here! This is the current issue, and it's easily available in stores. I'll do my part to promote magazine sales by not posting the article until it becomes harder to find. So why don't you run out and buy a copy? Warwick's interview includes two Harry Potter pictures that don't appear on this webpage. The issue also includes stories on Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and other high-interest movies, so you'll get your money's worth.

There's a wee bit of Leprechaun news. The Where's Me Gold subsection of Leprechaun Music has been updated to include a link to an August 2000 interview with the band that produced this immortal music.

November 12, 2001

With the release of the Harry Potter movie less than a week away, now's a good time for some fresh HP material. Six Harry Potter coloring books recently hit the store shelves, and Warwick's characters appear in three of them. You can read all about it in the new Harry Potter Coloring Books section (a subsection of the Harry Potter entry in the Filmography).

We don't have long to wait for the Willow DVD release, which occurs on November 27. You can read more about it on my other webpage.

There's absolutely nothing about to be released for the Ewoks, but I've got a couple of new pictures in Star Wars/Ewok Pictures Part 2 anyway. They're old publicity photos for Caravan of Courage aka The Ewok Adventure.

November 4, 2001

The Leprechaun Art section (a subsection of Leprechaun Miscellaneous) now contains pictures and information about a fabulous Leprechaun model. You MUST check it out - it's VERY cool.

The Warwick Davis Articles section now includes a brief 1995 interview from Starburst Magazine #208.

In the Warwick Davis Pictures section, I've split the Other Pictures into two sections in order to improve loading time. I've also added three new pictures of Flitwick to the Harry Potter subsection, which resides in the newly opened Part 2.

October 14, 2001

One of the benefits of the November 27 Willow DVD release is that we can hope for other types of fresh Willow-related material to come our way. It's already started to happen - the online magazine Science Fiction Weekly published a new interview with Warwick about the making of Willow in their September 17 issue. I've put a permanent link to this article in the Warwick Davis Articles section.

I was doing a little websurfing yesterday and came across some information on an animated series called Natures Guard which claimed that Warwick Davis, Peter Mayhew, Jeremy Bulloch, and other Star Wars actors would be providing the character voices. I was sure this was just some webmaster's fantasy, and prepared to send the information over to the Ridiculous Rumors section of the Official Warwick Davis Website. But when I got there, I discovered that Warwick had just posted an update. Not only did someone else send the story in ahead of me, but it wasn't a rumor at all - it's the real thing! So now the Filmography has a Natures Guard section with a picture and links to the series' official website.

There's a new picture from The New Adventures of Pinocchio, provided by Stanley Mejivski, the film's number one extra. It's a great picture of Warwick, and as an added bonus you can see Stanley standing right behind him. It's a pretty good picture of him, too. Thanks for all your help, Stanley! The picture is a DVD capture - that's right, Europe is already getting the movie on DVD, while here in the U.S. we're still waiting for the theatrical release. Life is unfair. [Note: on October 15 I learned that the U.S. release has been pushed back to February 2002 because Harry Potter and other major films will be taking up so much of the available screen space around the holidays. ]

There's also a new Snow White picture. It's poster-type promotional artwork for the miniseries. There's still no information on a broadcast date.

According to Warwick's newest update, he'll be appearing at the Memorabilia convention in Birmingham, England on November 3 and 4. I can't find a website for this event, but while I was looking for one I discovered that he appeared at the same event two years ago, and will be appearing at the SciFi Expo in Plano, Texas in May 2002. The Texas appearance is a rescheduling of the appearance Warwick was to have made at the October 20-21 2001 SciFi Expo. The Conventions & Other Appearances section has been updated to include all these changes.

One more note on Warwick's latest webpage update. He's got several interesting new additions in the Ridiculous Rumors section, and an entertaining report (with picture) in the Acting News section about a new commercial that he's done. Go over there and take a look!

And if you didn't see my previous update, it had a very simple message. Go read the Leprechaun 3 Script!

October 8, 2001

All right, Leprechaun fans, this update's for you! In recent months it's been very difficult to come up with fresh Lep material, but this time I've got a real treat for you. The Leprechaun 3 Script is now online, tucked away in the Leprechaun Miscellaneous section.

The script differs from the finished movie in many ways both large and small, including new stunts, new fights, new rhymes, and new jokes and sight gags. I've marked the most interesting variations in yellow for those who are in a hurry. But if you've got the time and are pretty familiar with the movie, then you'll really want to read each and every word. There are plenty of interesting moments that I haven't marked!

The script included a surprisingly large number of rhymes that either didn't make it into the movie or appeared there in significantly altered form. The Leprechaun 3 Rhymes have been updated to include this new material, including brief notes on the context in which they occurred. The new rhymes are listed after the rhymes that were actually in the movie. But to get the full effect, don't read them in the Rhymes section... read the script!

September 29, 2001

I've got a couple of new pictures in the Leprechaun department. Lep 1 Pictures Part 2 now has a picture of an invitation to a special screening of the movie. And Lep 2 Pictures has a recent picture of Shevonne Durkin, aka Bridget.

There are several new items in Ewok Pictures Part 2, including a card for an unreleased line of English Battle for Endor action figures. My, what long legs those Ewoks have!

There's been yet another update to the Conventions & Other Appearances section. A Toronto con that took place in 2000 has been added, as well as a Japanese event that took place in June 2001. My brain and my computer are unequipped to deal with the Japanese language so I don't know exactly what that event was, but there's a link to some pictures.

September 21, 2001

This is the most difficult paragraph I've ever had to write on this webpage. On September 11, 2001 the United States was hit with a massive terrorist attack that left thousands dead. Like all Americans (and all decent people everywhere) I am profoundly shocked and horrified by this event. The world is a sadder and scarier place than it used to be.

This tragedy has been discussed extensively on the web and in the news media, so I won't dwell on it here. Instead, I'll defy the terrorist attempt to destroy our way of life by continuing with that life as if everything was normal. Therefore, this update features my usual brand of trivia, and I'll get to the details in a moment. But first, I encourage you all to take a look at the Official Warwick Davis Website. At present there is a message posted there expressing Warwick's reaction to this real-life horror. Thank you, Warwick; we truly appreciate your kindness. [Note: on September 30, the sympathy message was removed and Warwick's page reverted to its normal appearance. But the thought still counts!]

And now, here's the webpage news:

About a week ago I got an email from Gabe Bartalos, the designer of the Leprechaun makeup and also the writer/director of the upcoming movie Skinned Deep. He told me that they hope for a release in early 2002, and provided other information on the current status of the movie, which is posted in the Skinned Deep section of the Filmography. Thanks for the information, Gabe!

The new issue of Star Wars Insider magazine (#56, Nov/Dec 2001) contains more than the usual number of Warwick Davis references. There's an article on the Willow DVD release, with a picture that now graces Willow Pictures Part 8. Another article on the Disney Star Wars Weekends had a picture of him signing autographs at the event. That picture, and the special Disney Weekend photo that you can glimpse in the picture, can both be viewed in the Other Pictures section. But the juiciest article was on the deleted scenes library in the upcoming Phantom Menace DVD. It was accompanied by numerous frames from the deleted scenes, including Anakin's fight with Greedo and an additional lap of the pod race. Wald appears in many of the fight scene pictures, and there are a couple glimpses of Weazel in the pod race sequence. Most of these pictures too small to scan well, but I've posted enlarged versions of the clearer ones in the newly created Phantom Menace Part 2 section. If you want to see all the pictures in the article, then you'd better run out and buy the magazine!

Today I saw Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (great movie). At the very end, Jay says "We are the Mack Daddies of Jersey!" It probably wasn't intended as a Leprechaun in the Hood reference, but you can turn it into one if you want to. That's what I did.

September 10, 2001

The October 2001 issue of Vanity Fair magazine is just now hitting the stores! The reason that's a good thing is because it has an article and a wonderful photo gallery for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, including a beautiful new photo of Flitwick. You can view this picture in the Harry Potter section of the Filmography. There's a reduced scan of the whole two-page photo and a full-sized scan of Flitwick's portion of the picture.

That's not all that's new in the picture world! Go to The Crossroads (my other webpage) for a look at some artwork appearing on promotional material for the Willow Special Edition DVD. The first one is a slightly modified version of the actual cover art; the other one may or may not be a modified version of the back cover art.

September 8, 2001

I've finished reading my copy of the downloadable Lep in the Hood script, and had a great time with it! It's very different from the finished movie in many ways, and may possibly be an early edition of the script. There are characters, rhymes and action that aren't in the movie - LOTS of deleted scene material - and it's very entertaining.

But don't expect to read any of it on this webpage! I want you to go here [Obsolete link removed] and buy it yourself. It's not expensive, and you'll definitely get your four bucks worth. But there are deeper issues. Strong sales could help convince Lions Gate Entertainment of the public's ongoing interest in the series, so buying this script is an indirect way to beg for Leprechaun 6. You can beg for it directly by sending them an email at feedback@lgecorp.com [Obsolete link removed]

After you've bought the downloadable script, here are some helpful operating hints. The display window (or faceplate as they call it) has a very cool picture of the Leprechaun on it. It also has some function buttons, but they are INVISIBLE (on my computer, at least)!! Experiment with your cursor; put it at several different places along the bottom and right edges of the faceplate and wait a moment to see what kind of description pops up. You'll soon know exactly where to click to get what you want.

The script sort of loses its continuity right at the very end, and I think they left a few lines out of it. At this point they seem to be strictly following the movie, so it's not a big loss. The fun part is all the deleted scene stuff that comes earlier!

The Phantom Menace section of the Filmography has a scandalous new report subsection on how Anakin treats his friends. Oh sure, he acted all nicey-nice in the movie, but apparently he was evil even then. As a counterbalance to his misbehavior, I've added a new picture of Wald to the Phantom Menace Pictures section. And incidentally, there are rumors that the Phantom Menace DVD will include two Wald cut scenes: the one where Wald witnesses Anakin's fight with Greedo, and one where Wald wishes Anakin good luck before the pod race. Just one more reason to buy the DVD!

Speaking of DVDs, the Willow DVD can now be pre-ordered at several places on the web. The DVD will be released on November 27.

According to UpcomingMovies.com, The New Adventures of Pinocchio is now set for release in New York and Los Angeles in October 2001, with a limited release in other unspecified US cities later.

Billy's Zorro Page has detailed descriptions of all the episodes of New World's Zorro series, including #42, The Jewelled Sword, which is the episode Warwick appeared in. I hope someone reruns this series, because I've never seen it and Warwick's episode sounds great. The TV Guest Appearances section of the Filmography now has a link to this episode guide.

September 1, 2001

Attention Lep fans! You can now buy a downloadable copy of the Lep in the Hood script for $3.99 at Lions Gate Films. I've added permanent links to this in the Lep in the Hood and Leprechaun Merchandise sections.

The Filmography section has been revamped. I reversed the order of the movie/TV series listings to put the newest/unreleased items first. This is more consistent with the rest of the webpage, and with the rest of the world for that matter. The section includes a new listing for Boogeymen, a compilation DVD with clips from 17 classic horror films including Leprechaun, which will be released in early October. Thanks to Enzo for telling me it existed!

The Other Appearances subsection of the Filmography has a new menu item called TV Guest Appearances & Commercials. Much of the information in this section (and the new information in the just-updated Plays & Pantomimes section) comes from the Resume section of the Official Warwick Davis Website. It's not easy to present complete information without ripping off Warwick's material, but I've done my best to strike the correct balance.

Speaking of Warwick's webpage - be sure to check out his Acting News section. He recently posted the air date for his guest appearance on the BBC's Murder Rooms mystery series.

The Harry Potter section of the Filmography has a couple of new pictures!

Finally, the Conventions subsection of the Filmography has been updated to include two Mexico City conventions that took place in 2000 and 2001.

August 23, 2001

There's been an update on the Official Warwick Davis Website. It occurred a couple of weeks ago, but I was slow in announcing it because I've been out of town. The primary change is a new Fan Club Survey section. The opening of the fan club has been temporarily put on hold to allow for additional research, but they hope to have it running by October. In the meantime, you can help by participating in Warwick's survey!

July 31, 2001

There are a couple of new listings in the Convention subsection of the Filmography. One is for Warwick's upcoming appearance at Gen Con UK 2001 at the end of August, so the fans in London will soon have their chance to go see him. The other is for a 1998 charity event called Star Wars Day II. It's obviously too late to see him at that one, but the website has some nice pictures.

The Warwick Davis Articles section has a new link to a Dutch Star Wars Fanclub/Echo Base interview.

Don't forget to join the Official Warwick Davis Fan Club! [obsolete link removed]

July 22, 2001

It finally happened - I got my chance to meet Warwick Davis at the San Diego Comic Con a couple of days ago. And what a fabulous experience that was! You can read a very brief description if you go to the Convention subsection of the Filmography and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Why is this description so brief? Because you haven't got time for the long version. Trust me.

The gorgeous collection of autographed photos that I acquired in San Diego is on display along with the convention report, including several pictures that I'd never seen before. These have made their way to the appropriate section of the Picture galleries in addition to being displayed in the Convention section. And yes, Leprechaun fans, this includes a fantastic picture of Our Hero as he appeared in Lep in the Hood. These scans have been doctored slightly to take my real name off the photo - I don't have to tell you guys everything.

At the convention I picked up a flyer for the Official Warwick Davis Fan Club, which recently went into operation. You get lots of cool stuff if you join, so it's very worthwhile. For details and an application form, go to the Warwick Davis Miscellaneous section and click on the new Official Warwick Davis Fan Club subsection. [obsolete link removed]

Bottom line on the convention: it was FUN! Warwick is a great guy, and if you get a chance to meet him - GO FOR IT! You'll be glad you did - I know I am!

July 13, 2001

The Official Warwick Davis Website was recently updated! The page isn't finished yet, but what's already there is great!

Meanwhile, there are some new additions to this page as well. The Leprechaun Merchandise Section now features a Turkish Leprechaun 1 poster, various views of the pad of Leprechaun sticky notes, a vinyl Lep 2 banner and a French Lep 3 video display.

I've also added a couple of upcoming events to the Conventions section.

July 7, 2001

The Warwick Davis Other Pictures section formerly included a half dozen blurry vidcaps from Gulliver's Travels and The Tenth Kingdom. These have now been replaced with nice clear pictures, and while I was at it I doubled the number of vidcaps on display.

There's also a new photo in the New Adventures of Pinocchio section of the Filmography. This photo was provided by the movie company, who also kindly sent a press kit. I haven't learned the date of the U.S. release yet - hopefully it won't be too much longer!

June 27, 2001

Willow fans, rejoice! Yesterday Lucasfilm officially announced the upcoming release of the Willow Special Edition DVD. The DVD will feature THX-certified anamorphic widescreen video and newly remixed Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Extras will include include special commentaries, an all-new documentary on the film's groundbreaking achievements in special effects, the classic Making of an Adventure documentary, an effects featurette, original theatrical trailers, TV spots, a still photo gallery and more. The DVD will be released on November 27 and carries a price tag of $26.98. There will be a simultaneous VHS release, priced at $14.98.

This is fabulous news. While I'm a bit concerned that there's no mention of a library of deleted scenes, they're greatly exceeding my expectations in the documentary department. Only five months to wait...

To celebrate the occasion I've added some new Willow pictures to the Warwick Davis Picture Gallery. The new Willow Pictures Part 8 includes a few screen captures from a home videotape of the classic Making of an Adventure documentary that will be included on the Special Edition DVD to give you a taste of things to come. And if you really want to have a Willow-fest, go to my other webpage.

June 25, 2001

Fresh material on the Leprechaun series has been difficult to come by in recent months, but today I've got a couple of new items that ought to please all the Lep fans out there. The Leprechaun Articles section has a new entry - a Cinefantastique article on Leprechaun 3 from June 1995.

I've also instituted a new subsection in the Leprechaun Miscellaneous section. Leprechaun Props takes a closer look at some of the items used in making the movies. At the moment all I've got are pictures of a few Lep in the Hood props.

Attention Willow fans: there are reliable-looking reports indicating that the movie will be released on DVD sometime in the fall of 2001. There's not much in the way of specific information, but according to rumor (reliability unknown) it will be a two-disc set and will include commentary by Warwick Davis. For more information go to my Willow webpage, recently rechristened The Crossroads.

June 12, 2001

Looks like the move was successful, doesn't it? You may notice that I've done a little redesigning to make the page more user-friendly. I don't think the main menu looks quite as cool as it did before, but it should load a LOT faster. There's a much better navigation bar at the bottom of each subsidiary page too. I did some other housekeeping too, deleting broken links and updating the Filmography and Biography.

It takes hours to upload a website as big as this one, and I can't finish the job today. By tomorrow, though, everything should be up and running as usual!

June 11, 2001

This webpage is moving to a new address, and I mean SOON. A couple of weeks ago my current server announced that they were changing the rules, and the amount of server space available to me here is going to be about a third of what I need, starting tomorrow. In recent days I've done a lot of scurrying around arranging a new host and getting ready for the move. The page's new address will be www.lepconnie.com. That address should be functional by tomorrow or the next day.

I've already pulled the larger files off of the current server to prevent the powers that be from doing it for me. So the sound files and most of the pictures are currently unavailable, but fear not - they'll be back very soon.

May 6, 2001

This seems to be my lucky week as far as pictures from upcoming movies are concerned. The most recent updates posted Harry Potter pics; this one announces the acquisition of pictures of Warwick in The New Adventures of Pinocchio and Snow White. Besides the pictures, if you scroll down to the middle of the Pinocchio section you'll find a new link to a French-language trailer for the movie. There's now somewhat of an air date for Snow White; it's to be broadcast in the fall on ABC.

The Convention subsection of the Filmography has been updated again, but not for an upcoming event. It's to add a couple of events to the list that were already over by the time I found out about them. Hey, nobody's perfect.

May 5, 2001

The Harry Potter section of the Filmography has been updated once again. My friend Dawn told me about the Harry Potter Galleries, a website with an outstanding collection of pictures from the upcoming movie. This website is apparently the original source of the Flitwick picture I found last week, and their version shows a whole Hogwarts class in session. The HP Galleries somehow managed to get screen caps from the trailer; their pics of the inside of Gringott's and Warwick's Goblin Bank Teller character (who they identify as Griphook) now grace my website along with the Flitwick picture. Thanks for the tip, Dawn!

April 28, 2001

Here's a treat for all the Harry Potter fans out there! I've obtained a picture of Warwick as Professor Flitwick. You can see it in the Harry Potter section of the Filmography. They've done a good job of transforming his appearance - I wouldn't have guessed that this was Warwick. But we'll be able to get a better look when the movie comes out, and perhaps he'll be more recognizable then.

And now here's something for all the Leprechaun fans. Michael's Leprechaun Home Page [obsolete link removed[ is another new Leprechaun fansite. All the pictures appear to have been taken from existing webpages without the courtesy of asking permission first, but it's a fresh presentation and is worth a look.

Haven't seen the other recent updates yet? Keep reading: h5 class="other">April 24, 2001

Here's an announcement that I've been waiting a LONG time to make! My other webpage, Willow.Lucasfan.Com, is back online after being missing in action since February 28. We're still working on getting the original address to function, but until we succeed you can access the page at this temporary address. [obsolete link removed[ 7 To keep this link visible, I've also posted it at the bottom of the Warwick Davis Menu.

There's been yet another change in the Convention subsection of the Filmography, but it's not a new convention listing this time. Near the bottom of the Convention section is a report from Mareile, who met Warwick at Jedi-Con in Germany just a few days ago. If meeting Warwick is your idea of fun, then conventions are GREAT places to go!

April 20, 2001

There's another new listing in the filmography's Convention subsection. Warwick Davis will appear at Dutch Star Con in the Netherlands on May 12. A word of warning to Netscape users: the convention website only works on Explorer, so you'll need to temporarily switch browsers before you go there. Thanks to Peter from the convention website for telling me about the event.

This is the second time this week that I've made an addition to the convention section. If you haven't seen the previous update yet, please keep reading:

April 18, 2001

I've added some great new stuff to the New Adventures of Pinocchio section! Go there now for exclusive information and pictures provided by Stanley Mejivski, the number one extra on the film.

And that's not the only new addition to the Filmography section - there's a new listing in the Convention section as well. Those of you in the UK have a chance to meet Warwick at Autographica 2001, where he'll be appearing on May 19 only. The show is sponsored by eBay, and here's some good news for bargain hunters: they've been auctioning off tickets for less than the face value of £20.

April 10, 2001

The Filmography section has some additional information on The New Adventures of Pinocchio. I've learned the name of the US distributor (Blue Steel), and I've added a link to pictures and a description [obsolete link removed] of the movie on The Associates website (the PR company for the UK distributor, Visual Entertainment). Unfortunately, there's no one who looks like Warwick in the pictures - I guess we'll just have to go see the movie when it comes out!

April 7, 2001

Here's a little bonus for those of you lucky enough to attend next month's AlphaCon. The Saturday pass features a picture of Wicket. And we all know who's inside that Ewok suit, don't we? In the picture Wicket is accompanied by Logray (Mike Edmonds), who's also a guest at the convention.

There's a new Leprechaun fan page on the web! It's called Leprechaun 6. [obsolete link removed] The web just doesn't have enough Lep fansites, so this is a very welcome addition to the collection. A word of warning to Netscape users though - at the moment it works a lot better on Explorer, so you might want to temporarily switch browsers.

March 28, 2001

Good news! There's a new Warwick Davis movie coming out soon. The New Adventures of Pinocchio will be released in several European countries in April, with a US theatrical release in June or July. This movie was filmed almost two years ago, and the long wait since then had me worried that it had disappeared for good. It's really great to see it resurfacing! And in spite of the subject matter, it does NOT seem to be a children's movie. Follow the link above for more information.

There's also a modest bit of news on the upcoming Snow White. I've confirmed that it is a miniseries, not just a TV movie. And a friend discovered that the Hallmark website has two sections on the movie, not just one. The one I didn't know about before has a cast and credits list that's much more comprehensive than the other section. Now if I could just find out the air date...

Don't worry Leprechaun fans - I've got a modest treat for you. Alessandro's Celtics Archive [obsolete link removed] is back online. And what does a basketball fansite have to do with anything? Well, the webmaster uses leprechauns to rate the games, and has chosen Our Hero to represent the team's most decisive victories. Follow the link and scroll down to the middle of the page to view the Chaun-O-Meter.

For those of you who are wondering what happened to my other website... Willow.Lucasfan.Com lost its server on February 28. Arrangements have been made for a new server, but the process is taking much longer than expected and there's not a thing I can do about it. The page will return eventually, and when it does the original address should still work. So if you click on that link and you actually go somewhere, you'll know the page is back!

March 20, 2001

Here's a nice treat for you Phantom Menace fans! I've added three new pictures to the Phantom Menace Picture Gallery. Two Wald-related photos come from the Official Star Wars website, and show Warwick clowning around in costume and parts of the costume minus Warwick. There's also a nice photo of Weazel that comes from Star Wars Insider #52. Thanks to Nia for alerting me to the Wald photos.

I've added a link to a 1999 interview [obsolete link removed] on the WS website.

I've updated the Convention section of the Filmography to include the latest AlphaCon press release. [no longer on page]

I've also done some minor reconfiguration in the Warwick Davis Miscellaneous section to eliminate some redundancies and outdated information.

It's been confirmed that the actor in the goblin banker closeup toward the end of the Harry Potter trailer is in fact Warwick Davis. Doesn't the trailer seem even better now?

You won't see this image on my webpage because I haven't been able to figure out a way to capture it. Watching the trailer is the only way to do it, so go check it out now!

It was discovered that the Official Warwick Davis Website wasn't displaying properly on some computers, so the page is being redesigned. But some sections are functional, namely the Wicket the Ewok Appeal (charity drive), the guestbook, and the contact info, so it's worth a look. I'll let you know when the page is updated - there are some VERY cool things planned for this website!

March 7, 2001

The page is back online after being down for a week for a server update. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm really glad it's back.

The Leprechaun 6 section has been updated to include the following information:

On February 16, Upcoming Horror Movies.Com posted this report:

"I got an email regarding another sequel to the Leprechaun series. In the email it was said that Director Mary Lambert (The In Crowd), is in negoiations to helm the film, which is scheduled to roll this spring in Toronto. There are no plot details as of yet, but it's rumored that this installment will take place in the Lep's stomping grounds of Ireland. Don't know how accurate this information is, but I figured I'd just let you all know anyway."

I wanted to believe that this was true, but it just didn't fit with the January reports from Lions Gate Entertainment that the movie wasn't in the works. So I wrote to Lions Gate again on February 28, and they confirmed that, alas, the situation is still the same. There are no current plans for Leprechaun 6, but they're aware of the demand and the situation could change. So if you want to help them remain aware of the demand, drop them a line and tell them you want more Lep.

Incidentally, this is not the first time that I've encountered the idea that Lep 6 will take place in Ireland. A few weeks ago I ran across a post on a forum that said that the next installment in the series would be called Leprechaun 666: The Return to Ireland. At the time I assumed the guy was just making it up, but who knows? Maybe the idea has been discussed by the powers that be at some point in time. Or someone came up with a clever idea for a hoax...

On a more cheerful note, Lions Gate is reportedly planning to issue a Leprechaun DVD 5-pack on September 11. Thanks to Michael Schafer for the tip.

On another cheerful note, there's a Harry Potter trailer online at the official website for the movie. About two thirds of the way through there's a glimpse of the interior of the goblin bank, and a little later there's a closeup of one of the goblin bankers. It could be Warwick!

The Official Warwick Davis Website is now up and running! GO THERE NOW!!! It's not entirely finished yet, but what's already up is great!

Also, the organizers of AlphaCon want those of you within driving distance of Omaha to remember that it's coming up in May!

There's another birthday, but this time it's not for a person. This webpage is one year old today! The page grew a lot during that year, and drew 7,000 visitors. And this is just the beginning! Want to get me a nice present in honor of the page's birthday? I'd love to see Leprechaun 6, so join the Lep 6 email campaign if you haven't done so already.

The page would be nothing without its visitors, so I've got a present for you too. There's a new Sound Clip section on the Warwick Davis Main Menu, featuring sound clips from several of his non-Leprechaun movies. Enjoy!

No new goodies this time - just a big happy birthday to Warwick Davis, who turns 31 today. Want to get him a nice present? I bet he'd like the chance to make Leprechaun 6. So join the email campaign if you haven't done so already.

Today's update is all about the Leprechaun. The most important news is that Trimark has confirmed that they are not currently planning to make Leprechaun 6. The good news is that they say this situation could change. Trimark was acquired by Lions Gate Entertainment in October 2000, and it sounds like the new management is a little indecisive about our favorite evil hero. Leprechaun fans unite, and persuade them to do the right thing! Join my Lep 6 email campaign by writing to Trimark/Lions Gate at feedback@lgecorp.com and begging them (nicely) to continue the series. There's additional information in the Lep 6 section, and I've placed reminders in various other locations.

There's a new item on the Leprechaun Main Menu because I recently learned to make Sound Clips, and now I have them for all five movies. Ficky's Leprechaun Page has sound clips for the first four movies, but I believe these are the first Lep in the Hood sound clips on the web. I saw no point in duplicating Ficky's clips, so mine are all different. If you don't see your favorite lines from the first four movies on my page, chances are you can find them on his.

There are some other sound treats too. Green Cross rock band sent me a copy of their album and authorized me to post samples on the page, so that's what I've done. They're in the Green Cross portion of the Leprechaun Music section.

I recently acquired the Leprechaun 2 Theatrical Overview, a marketing kit that accompanied the movie's video release and was intended to encourage video stores to stock the movie. It describes the marketing of the movie's theatrical release in detail in order to demonstrate the movie's popularity. It's interesting reading - the movie's promotion included extensive Leprechaun appearances on MTV on St. Patrick's Day 1994, plus some very strange little events. Naturally, I've put the contents of this booklet online (right here as part of the Leprechaun Articles submenu). It's rather long, so I've highlighted the most interesting parts in yellow for those of you who don't want to slog through the whole thing.

For the first time in over a year, Warwick Davis is scheduled to make an appearance at a U.S. sci-fi convention! AlphaCon will take place in Omaha, Nebraska on May 4-6, 2001. There isn't the slightest chance that I will be able to attend this event, but I still find it very exciting because I got to play a small part (very small) in bringing it about. The convention organizers initially had problems making contact with Warwick, and emailed me to see if there was anything I could do to help. I managed to successfully pass the word to Warwick that they were looking for him (and many thanks to Paul Robinson for the vital role he played in this process). Someone else provided the telephone number that was what they really needed to make arrangements - it is definitely NOT in my power to provide that sort of service - but I hope that my efforts at least did a little to help prepare the way. Look in the Miscellaneous section for information on other upcoming conventions.

I've added an "Other Appearances" section to the Filmography to deal with the MTV appearances, past convention appearances and other items that in my opinion don't belong with the movie listings.

And now for the bad news: it appears that Trimark Pictures doesn't have any immediate plans to make Leprechaun 6. There are certain necessary moves that apparently have not been made. This doesn't mean that they're never going to make the movie, but it does look like they're not planning to do it right away.

I just discovered the Eric Walker Official Site. Eric Walker starred as Mace Towani in The Ewok Adventure, and he has a fabulous collection of behind-the-scenes photos in his personal photo gallery. It takes a while to load, but it's well worth the wait.

Here's an odd little item. EMPcareer, a very serious business-oriented website, has a link to my page in the Remuneration [obsolete link removed] section. It's listed more or less alphabetically in the C's, between "Confucianism's Influence" and "Consolidated Regulations." I have NO idea why this is there, but I suspect that somebody was goofing off on the job.
