HorrorHound: The statue has been a long time in the making, I remember you mentioning the figure back in 2003 and since the first batch of photos appeared on your official website (warwickdavis.com) you've literally had collectors foaming at the mouth awaiting the availability of the piece.

Warwick: Absolutely. Sean Green (the sculptor) and I were going back forth with it for a number of years before anything happened. It was one of those projects where either I would be busy filming or Sean would be too busy to work on it, so it has taken a lot of time and effort to get to the stage we are at now. We are currently working with Cards Inc on the packaging at the moment and they're great, they really know the market. I just can't wait to get it out to the public. I took it with me to the Chiller Theatre show in New Jersey recently and had on my table, and the amount of email addresses I took from people who want to know as soon as it's available was just amazing.

HorrorHound: Speaking of the packaging, can the collectors expect anything special or unique with this item?

Warwick: I would like that. I want to put a figure out at a price that everyone can get one, but at the same time I want it to be special. Obviously I want to keep the green theme in there, maybe line the inside with a velvet green cloth or something. I know a lot of collectors like to display items boxed as well as loose so we are definitely trying to make it desirable for that very reason. In addition there will be some background on Sean on there as well as other details. It is in the works but by no means finalised yet.

HorrorHound: Now I have to ask you about the brand new Leprechaun figure that SOTA Toys plans on putting out as part of there Now Playing toy line later this year. Were you aware of this action figure coming out?

Warwick: Funnily enough I was in a meeting with Cards Inc. regarding the figure Sean and I have done and as we left the office a fax had come in showing a picture of that figure based on his likeness in the first movie. The photos I saw weren't the best and I appreciate that the photography at a collectors fair can be a little off, but at this moment all I can say is the more the better. I still want to see a Leprechaun bobble-head made at some point; it's all very encouraging to see more Leprechaun merchandise out there.

HorrorHound: Well who knows, if the Now Playing figure is successful, which I have every faith in it being so, maybe the folks at SOTA will give us a 12 or 18-inch Leprechaun with a sound chip that spouts his most memorable phrases.

Warwick: That would be fantastic! I'd love to see something like that eventually. Last St. Patrick's Day I did a holiday greeting on my website in character which was a lot of fun to do. I'll have to do another one this year. Everyone gets a kick out of that kind of thing. A trend I've got going at the minute is whenever I meet fans at conventions I'll leave voice messages for there friends over the phone as the Leprechaun or even answer the phone for them in character. That's always good fun. *laughs*
